Hello Everyone, I’m Ana and I’m a year 7 at Pt England School! Today I’ll be explaining to you all about why all New Zealanders should learn how to speak Te Reo Maori. Because te reo Māori is central to the identity of the Māori people, and learning the language fosters a deeper understanding of their customs, values, and worldview. By embracing te reo, all New Zealanders can honour the country’s rich history
Firstly, I think that all New Zealanders should learn everything about Maori. Because it’s an important language and culture to all of us. We all should respect it, and show pride in it. We, New Zealanders, should be proud that we’re one of them.
Secondly, I think all children should learn everything about Maori as well. Sometimes they can struggle to speak in Te Reo Maori, they find it kinda hard or difficult. But once they grow up into an adult or teenager, they find it easy now.
